Cabinet sub-committee meeting on CNTF
 


sub commetti meetingThe Cabinet sub-committee members’ meeting on the proposed design of CNTF by MCN took place on May 11th, 2008.

The issues discussed include the performance of Trust fund during the previous year as well as its achievements and progress.

H.E General Khudaidad, the MCN minister addressed the members of the meeting and said; “This meeting is intended to get the proposal approved and pave the way for smooth implementation of it, whilst for achieving this goal, we have been holding discussions with the line ministries as well as with the international donors at different stages”.

The CNTF director, Abdul Halim Wahidi, briefed the participants on the new structure of CNTF and said; “The restructuring and reform draft proposals were sent to the line ministries and the donors in advance, so that they could assist with their suggestions in provincial-focused project development”.

“The GPI program, being implemented by the MCN, has given the determination opportunity to the provincial communities and encourages them towards no poppy cultivation”, he added.

The meeting was attended by the MCN minister General Khudaidad, MoI minister Zarar Ahmad Muqbel, MRRD Minister Muhammad Ehsan Zia, Deputy Minister for MoF Waheedullah Shahrani, envoys from MoPH, MPW, MoD, as well as from some of the embassies and Donors.

CNTF was officially established by MCN and MoF ministers and UNDP country office director on October 29th 2005.
